Linux MultiMedia Studio also known as LMMS aconryme is the result of an open source project. Originally developed for Linux distributions, the software is now available on Windows and Mac. Free, it is however very complete and integrates enough tools to make voice recordings and record instruments in good quality.

The effects delivered in Linux MultiMedia Studio are diverse and varied. You will find different equalizers to process your audio tracks but also compressors/limiters to give them a little pep. Beatmaking enthusiasts are not left out since the application offers a wide choice of virtual instruments (VSTi), which are also free. The only defect of the application is its austere interface.
